Great Wall Motor (GWM) Thailand is GWM first full-process manufacturing base in ASEAN. In 2020 the company took over General Motors former plant in Rayong province and began production there in 2021, making it one of the flagship projects of Chinese automakers going global. The site was upgraded to smart, green manufacturing standards and builds HAVAL, ORA and TANK models with a focus on new-energy and intelligent connected vehicles, serving Thailand and exporting across ASEAN. Its arrival supports Thailand goal of becoming a Southeast Asian hub for automotive and EV manufacturing.
